5 artsy summer hotspotS
In order to make it easier for you to choose from the great variety, we have compiled our top 5 artsy hotspots for the summer. Have fun discovering and enjoying!
1. The perfect starting point
At the arthotel Sans Souci Wien, you wake up next to lithographs by Roy Lichtenstein and greet Bert Stern next to Herbert Brandl on your way to breakfast. Wave goodbye to Hildegard Joos before heading off to visit her artist colleagues throughout Vienna.
2. Danube Canal
Here you can enjoy the most vibrant ambience of Vienna. On the canal´s banks you will find countless creations by local and international graffiti artists. In addition to the highlights of the street art scene, small bars, fine restaurants and party locations welcome their visitors. Would you like to immerse yourself in the world of graffiti art? Our concierge team will be happy to organize a special tour for you!
3. Museumsquartier
The MQ is – among others – home to Heino Zubernig and Ane Mete Hol at the Museum of Modern Art and Egon Schiele at the Leopold Museum. At the specious MQ Open Space one can discover artistic experiences for all senses – see, hear and feel for yourself!
4. Museum of Art History
If you want to escape the city heat in an artistic way, you will find everything your heart desires on several thousand square meters in the Kunsthistorisches Museum: a thematic variety from numerous collections as well as the Picture Gallery with masterpieces from all epochs of art history.
5. Temple of Theseus
The probably most romantic place in the city is located in the middle of a fragrant rose garden just around the corner from Hotel Sans Souci. Take in the silence that reigns here in the middle of the city or visit the (free) art exhibitions in the temple itself.
The right place to end the day is the Laurent Perrier Summer Lounge at Hotel Sans Souci. Here, with a direct view on one of the artsy hotspots (tip: number 3!), you can reflect on what you’ve experienced. To do so, we serve you a well-chilled glass of champagne and summery Vienna flair!
