Spend a day at Vienna´s green oases

city hiking trail 1 – Kahlenberg

easy – 11 km – 3:30h 

This popular footpath spreads over 11 kilometers and leads you to Vienna´s wineyards, wooded hills and by the most authentic culinary highlights. Enjoy a unique view over the city, the Danube river and take a refreshment in one of the charming “Heurigen“, “Buschenschanken” or traditional Restaurants.

city hiking trail 4 – Jubiläumswarte

easy – 7.2 km – 3h

This path leads you to lakes and small rivers and to the exceptional stock of old trees of the Dehnepark. Finally, a fantastic view from the 31 metres high “Jubiläumswarte” rewards the visitor for the undertaken hike.

city hiking trail 9 – viennese Prater

medium – 13.4 km – 4:00h

From the Viennese amusement park to the harbour freudenau, this trail leads you to the most popular places of the Viennese. Enjoy hiking in Vienna full of authentic flair and wide meadows which offer the perfect place for a variety of free time activities – including culinary delights.

Volksgarten

The unique Volksgarten is less than a five-minute walk from Sans Souci. There is a lot on offer here: a beautiful rose garden, free art experiences in the Theseus Temple and, with a bit of luck, you will meet the Austrian Federal President on his daily dog walk!

At the shady spots and water areas of the Vienna City Park you can find relaxation from the busy city. Walking through the variety of plants, you will pass many sculptures with well-known names!

Palace Park "Schlosspark Schönbrunn"

We continue with one of Vienna’s most historic green spaces. Maria Theresia once strolled through this park behind Schönbrunn Palace. Follow her imperial footsteps and discover the magnificent flower gardens, numerous monuments and many great photo spots.

Away from the tourist hustle and bustle, the Augarten offers a retreat for all those who want to blend in among with the Viennese. This is where the Viennese pick up their children from the adjacent kindergarten, meet friends and spend cosy hours. Two restaurants and the Augarten Porcelain Manufactory complete the offer.
