The same charming spirit, characteristic to the Sans Souci, also gives that special touch to the Veranda restaurant, to Le Bar, the hotel’s own cocktail bar, the Le Salon and the generously designed Spa. All these conveniences make the Sans Souci Wien luxury hotel the perfect retreat in the heart of Vienna.
Urban lifestyle at its finest!
The highlights of this Lifestyle Hotel include a collection of modern art with original paintings by Roy Lichtenstein, Allen Jones and Steve Kaufman, attracting the eye of the beholder in public areas and rooms. However, art and culture not only dominate the interior decoration but also reflect in the neighbourhood: the MuseumsQuartier, one of the world’s biggest artistic quarters, is a two minute walk from the hotel.
Likewise, the Sans Souci Wien is the perfect starting point for a long shopping tour in Vienna: both the trendy quaint designer stores of the 7th district and Mariahilferstraße, Vienna’s largest shopping mile, as well as the elegant luxury boutiques of the 1st district are conveniently located within walking distance.
Living History
The Sans Souci Wien Hotel was established in a historical building erected in 1872, telling a long story. Originally it was the location of “Zum großen Zeisig“, the inn that served Johann Strauß for the 1858 premiere of his “Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka”. Named Hotel Höller, the establishment was in continuous operation from 1873 to 1953, interrupted only for a short occupation by the US army after World War II.
In August 2010, the Sans Souci Group acquired the establishment and began renovations in October of that year. Particularly because of its historic origination, the construction work was carried out with special care, ensuring that the original substance would be preserved to maintain the special character and to create the flair of exclusive living.
